How to Repurpose Webinar Content
The webinar you have been working on for weeks is over. Everything went just as you had planned. You were at capacity for participants, there was some excellent response and participation, and you have a great list of new leads.
The speakers and support staff have left and as you start to clean up the event room, you wonder, “Where do we go from here?” Dropping an armload of empty cans and printed pages into the office recycling bin, a thought comes to you. “Why can’t we recycle the content of the webinar?”
Rethink, reuse, recycle, REPURPOSE!
The information, data, and material you accumulated while developing the webinar can easily be combined with the new information you acquired from the questions, comments, and responses from participants and repurposed into numerous new avenues for other content marketing methods. You can create blog posts, reference sheets, videos, downloadable recordings, and other lead generating opportunities.
If you recorded the entire webinar, you can repost the entire event as a downloadable file, making certain it is easily shared. Additionally, you can repurpose the longer video into several smaller (3 to 5 minute) videos highlighting specific points or speakers.
Use the questions from the webinar participants to create blog postings. There probably were more questions than time to answer them; send the unanswered queries to the speakers and have them respond through email. Combine the questions and answers with a brief description of the webinar.
Within the webinar, and within the speaker slides, there were likely numerous references to websites and sources for additional information. Combine all of sources into a reference sheet available for all the participants.
Ask your featured speakers for access to their slides. Offer these slides as follow-up bonuses to the participants of your webinars. Add a hyperlink to the speakers’ websites and ask the speakers to reciprocate with a link from their site to yours directly relating to the slides.
Have your webinar transcribed into a written format and make the transcript available as a downloadable file. Repurposed in this format, your webinar becomes easily scanned by search engines and will generate additional leads.
